Your client is driving a 1987 Ford Taurus. The at fault driver blows a stop sign and runs into the front of your client’s car while your client is driving through the intersection with the right of way, creating an obvious total loss and sending your client to the hospital in an ambulance.

Thee at fault driver’s insurance company insist that repairs can be made for $1,312.96. The vehicle is repaired per the at fault driver’s estimate and repair shop.

Consumers’ Auto Detective will provide the following documentation.

    1. Written Diminished Value Assessment
    2. Written Forensic estimate of actual damage to the vehicle and/or
    3. Written Re-Repair estimate of costs to restore the vehicle post initial repairs
    4. Written evaluation of the totaled vehicle based on Kelley Blue Book.

Upon completion of repairs to the client’s Taurus, she brought the car to Consumers’ Auto Detective for an inspection. Our inspection revealed that the repairs were:

    1. Insufficient to restore the vehicle to pre-loss condition
    2. Vehicle had suffered a Diminished Value of $1,707.94
    3. Required re-repairs of $2,979.34 to finalize the client’s claim

The insurance company reviews the vehicle at Consumers’ Auto Detective and agrees to "total" the vehicle. Based on a CCC Valuation, the client is offered $1,310.50 in full and final settlement of the property damage. Based on a Consumers’ Auto Detective total loss evaluation, client receives settlement of $2,901.93 and is allowed to keep the "repaired" salvage. Total payment to client above initial offer, $2,901.93 and possession of the "repaired" Taurus.  This is an actual case, documentation available on request.

Your client has had their vehicle repairs undervalued and the vehicle has been under-repaired. This is a common scenario of the repair process. When challenged, thee at fault party’s insurer then chooses to "total" the vehicle rather than make it right.

Once the vehicle is declared a "total", your client receives either a CCC or an ADP total loss settlement evaluation from the at fault party’s insurance company. Also very typically, these evaluations have been sold to the insurers on the promise that they will save the insurer money in the settlement of the property damage. Class action attorneys, to offer supporting evidence that these evaluations fraudulently cheat consumers in the settlement of total loss claims have retained Consumers’ Auto Detective to provide that evidence. It is our understanding that these computer-generated evaluations are inadmissible in court as no individual can be summoned to substantiate the report. Consumers’ Auto Detective will produce an evaluation based on court recognized data. Most often, we have found that these reports under value claims by hundreds of dollars on older cars to thousands of dollars on late model cars. The more valuable the property, the larger the loss to your client.

Consumers’ Auto Detective can enhance your client’s case and help you to bring them a more favorable settlement. By substantiating damage to the vehicle that is being swept under the table, or establishing a fair market value to their total loss settlement or both. We can be a difference maker for your clients.

We are the experts to substantiate your client’s claim and offer written documentation that can be backed up with expert testimony.
