When Consumers' Auto Detective checked with the manufacturer it was determined that no welding should be done in the wheelhouse to firewall area because of special "laminate" steel used in the firewall.
Unfortunately as seen in the photo above, the six yellow circles above surround mig welds that attach the wheelhouse to the firewall. This process robs the specialized laminate steel of its strength rendering the subject vehicle UNSAFE! When presented with the Consumers' Auto Detective Report this major insurer immediately purchased the vehicle from the consumer.
